CAUTION IN TANNING WITH THE HAIR ON: The condition of the animal, the skinning method, and how it was preserved greatly determine the final result of the tannage. Tails are fragile and often come off during the tanning process. Therefore, there is no guarantee of the final outcome.
Fox Valley offers an economical way for hunters to tan their hair-hides, but, for hides that are of unique value to the hunter we highly recommend that you send them to a taxidermist that can give those hides the special attention they deserve.
ALL HIDES DESIGNATED FOR HAIR-ON TANNNG REQUIRE A DEPOSIT WITH THE HIDE ONCE IT IS RECEIVED AT THE FACTORY. THE REQUIRED DEPOSIT FOR EACH TYPE OF HIDE IS LISTED BELOW.

Deposit Requirement:
Because of the nature of the tanning process we ask a deposit for all hair-on tanning. This is for hair-on tanning only.
Please make your check or money order payable to Fox Valley Leather Company and place it in a plastic zip-lock to send in with the hide you are planning to tan with the hair-on. Do not send cash! |
We only accept hides for both hair-on and hair-off tanning until March 1st of each year. All hides sent after March 1st will be refused.
